Reverentially known as Pujya Gurudev, he was profoundly influenced by the lives and teachings of Sri Adi Sankaracarya, Sri Swami Shivananda, and Sri Swami Tapovanam. Determined to bridge the gap between timeless scriptural wisdom and modern-day living, Swami Chinmayananda made Advaita Vedanta accessible to the common person. As a leading teacher of Advaita Vedanta and a pioneering spiritual reformer, his work was firmly rooted in scriptural authority while simultaneously addressing the pragmatic needs of contemporary Indian society. His vision manifested through efforts in spiritual training, education, cultural rejuvenation, and service to the nation. Chinmaya Mission, founded by this great master, will mark 75 glorious years of selfless service in 2026.
