journey of exploration and discovery in the eternal city of Toronto.<br/>Valeriy A. Buryachenko is the President of Micromechanics & Composites. He received his MS in Mathematics from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, USSR), his PhD in Materials Science from the Chemical Production Engineering Institute (Moscow, USSR), and his DSc in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanics of Solids) from the S.P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine). Dr. Buryachenko is the author of more than 170 papers and two major monographs: Micromechanics of Heterogeneous Materials (2007) and Local and Nonlocal Micromechanics of Heterogeneous Materials (2022, 1024 pp). His principal scientific contribution is the development of Computational Analytical Micromechanics (CAM) and the formulation of a new Philosophy of Micromechanics. He currently leads a small consulting company Micromechanics & Composites. Earlier in his career, he held research and academic positions in several leading research centers and universities across the USA, Italy, Austria, and Germany.
