About this conference

Dates: 24-26 March 2027
Location: Oxford, United Kingdom
Submission deadline: 30 October 2026
About the conference
The Inaugural Space Economy Conference is a two-day developmental conference focused on management research and practice in the Space Economy. It will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, industry professionals and policymakers to examine the organisational and managerial dimensions of space-related activity.
The conference is designed to strengthen research, support exchange between academia and industry, and develop collaborations around the markets, organisations and institutions taking shape across the space sector.

Programme
The programme will include selected paper and poster presentations with senior faculty discussants, together with keynotes, panel discussions and structured networking. Industry-facing sessions will connect researchers with practitioners.
The organisers intend to develop proposals for special issues in major management journals and industry- or policy-facing outlets by the time of the conference.

Submission tracks
Academic Track. Authors may submit conceptual, empirical, phenomenon-driven or methodological work connected to the Space Economy. The first-stage submission is an extended abstract of no more than 500 words. Work in progress is welcome where it is sufficiently developed to benefit from substantive discussion.
Professional Track. Participants may submit a challenge-and-solution proposal of no more than 500 words addressing a concrete managerial or organisational problem in the space sector and presenting a distinctive proposed or implemented response.
The deadline for both tracks is 30 October 2026. Selected participants will be invited to submit a full paper for the Academic Track or a slide deck for the Professional Track by 15 January 2027.
