About this conference
When substance use disorders and psychiatric conditions occur together, assessment and treatment can become more complex. Individuals may experience overlapping symptoms, difficulties with diagnosis, challenges in treatment engagement, and differing support requirements. Understanding these interactions is important for developing coordinated approaches that address more than one aspect of a person's health.
The 2nd Edition of the International Conference on Addiction Medicine, Mental Health and Psychiatry (ICAMP 2027) will provide an international forum for discussing these issues on March 22–24, 2027, in Singapore and online. Its hybrid event will enable participation by professionals and researchers working in addiction treatment, psychiatry, psychology, and related healthcare fields.
The relationship between addiction and psychiatric disorders can involve several clinical and social factors. Depression, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, psychotic disorders, and other mental health challenges may coexist with alcohol or drug dependence. In some circumstances, psychiatric symptoms can complicate recovery, while substance use may intensify existing psychological difficulties or make assessment more challenging.
Addiction Conference will offer opportunities to explore subjects such as dual diagnosis, integrated treatment planning, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, recovery support, and continuity of care. Participants may also discuss patient-centered communication, coordination between specialist services, and approaches for reducing fragmentation across healthcare settings.
Research presentations and professional discussions can help identify practical difficulties, compare treatment experiences, and highlight questions that require additional investigation. The Addiction Medicine Conferences will encourage contributions examining clinical practice, behavioral interventions, service delivery, and emerging evidence relevant to people experiencing co-occurring conditions. It will also provide opportunities for networking among professionals who share an interest in improving collaboration between addiction services and psychiatric care providers.
Through participation in Singapore or online, attendees can exchange perspectives with colleagues from different geographical and professional backgrounds. Addiction Medicine Conference 2027 aims to support broader understanding of co-occurring disorders and encourage evidence-informed, compassionate, and coordinated approaches that recognize the varied needs of individuals receiving mental health and addiction treatment.
