About this Scholarship
Applications are now being accepted for the King’s College London PhD Studentship in UK. The fully funded program invites outstanding applicants with an interest in sustainability, energy transition, justice, or governance. The PhD program provides an amazing opportunity to participate in advanced research on community experiences. During this studentship in UK, the candidate will have flexibility to work on their own PhD project within the fellowship’s focus areas.

- Selected student will receive a stipend of £23,805 per year (for 3.5 years).
- The program covers tuition fees of £8,000.
- An additional research and training grant of £1,350 per year will also be provided.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Must be applying for a PhD / Postgraduate Research (PGR) program
- Postgraduate Taught (PGT) candidates are not eligible
- Must have completed or be near completion of a Master’s degree in a relevant field (International Development, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, or related)
- Must have a strong academic record with research potential
- Must show interest in qualitative, interpretive, or ethnographic research methods
- Fully funded studentship is open to Home (UK) applicants only (international applicants may apply but full funding is not guaranteed)
- Must meet the English language requirements of King’s College London
- Must be available to start in October 2026 and commit to full-time study for 3.5 years
- Must be eligible to study in the UK (visa sponsorship may be available)
- Preference for candidates with experience or strong understanding of extractive industries, energy transitions, or affected communities
