How IEEE involvement actually works

IEEE technical co-sponsorship is the thing most authors are actually looking for, because it is what makes proceedings eligible for IEEE Xplore. It is granted per conference, by an IEEE society or section, and it appears on the conference's own site as a co-sponsorship number. If a call for papers claims IEEE involvement but shows no number and names no sponsoring society, treat that as unconfirmed.

What to check before you submit

• A named IEEE society, section or council as technical co-sponsor
• A conference record number, usually shown as #XXXXX
• Proceedings submitted to IEEE Xplore rather than "guaranteed indexed"
• A programme committee whose members publish in the field
